Workshop Team Leader – Porsche Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Workshop Team Leader with strong Porsche experience (air-cooled models preferred) to oversee diagnostics, repairs, restoration, and performance work. The role involves leading and mentoring technicians, managing workshop operations, and ensuring high-quality standards across both classic and modern Porsche vehicles. Ideal candidates are hands-on leaders capable of handling complex technical challenges while maintaining efficiency and excellence in the workshop.
Technical Leadership
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians in a Porsche specialist workshop environment.
- Provide expert diagnostics and technical guidance on complex Porsche repairs and restoration projects.
- Act as the primary technical authority within the workshop.
- Support technicians in troubleshooting advanced issues across mechanical, electrical, and engine systems.
Classic Porsche Expertise – Added Value
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain air-cooled Porsche models, particularly:
- 911 (1964–1998)
- Early mechanical fuel injection systems
- Carbureted engines
- CIS and Motronic systems
- Oversee engine rebuilds, gearbox repairs, and restoration work on classic Porsche models.
- Ensure authenticity and correct repair methods consistent with factory standards and heritage practices.
Workshop Operations
- Plan and allocate daily workshop tasks to technicians.
- Ensure workshop productivity, efficiency, and quality control.
- Monitor repair times and ensure jobs are completed within agreed timelines.
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
Quality Control
- Perform final quality inspections on completed vehicles before delivery.
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer standards and workshop quality expectations.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and service reports.
Customer & Technical Support
- Assist service advisors with technical explanations and estimates.
- Provide clear diagnostic reports and repair recommendations.
- Occasionally interact with customers regarding technical matters or restoration projects.
Training & Development
- Mentor and train workshop technicians.
- Share specialist knowledge in air-cooled Porsche systems and diagnostics.
- Promote continuous improvement and technical excellence within the team.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8–10 years' experience working on Porsche vehicles with minimum 4 years in supervisory role.
- Proven experience in engine rebuilds, mechanical diagnostics, and restoration work.
- Previous experience as a senior technician or workshop supervisor/team leader.
- Strong understanding of:
- Porsche flat-six engines
- Modern Fuel System as well as CIS, MFI, and carburetor systems
- Porsche manual gearboxes
- Suspension and chassis systems
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and workshop documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Porsche dealership or Porsche specialist workshop experience.
- Experience with classic Porsche restoration projects.
- Familiarity with modern Porsche diagnostics (PIWIS).
- Experience with classic Porsche air-cooled engines
