Senior Planning Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer who will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely project delivery. The role involves coordinating with project managers, engineers, and contractors to track progress, identify delays, analyze risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines and resource efficiency.

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop detailed project schedules and work breakdown structures (WBS) using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Prepare baseline schedules in coordination with project teams.
  • Establish project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor project progress and update schedules regularly.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Analyze schedule variances and delays and recommend corrective actions.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • Participate in progress meetings and provide schedule updates.
  • Ensure planning activities align with project objectives and contract requirements.

Risk & Delay Analysis

  • Conduct delay analysis and impact assessments.
  • Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support claims preparation related to project delays when necessary.

Resource & Cost Planning

  • Assist in resource allocation and manpower planning.
  • Track project performance against schedule and budget.
  • Support project teams in optimizing productivity and workflow.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate planning documentation and records.
  • Ensure planning and reporting processes comply with project management standards and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Typically 8–12 years of experience in project planning and scheduling.
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or real estate development projects.
  • Strong experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of project planning methodologies and scheduling techniques.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project timelines.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of EPC projects and project control systems.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions.
