Senior Electrical Draughtsman
The Senior Electrical Draughtsman is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating detailed electrical drawings and documentation for construction, MEP, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The role ensures that all drawings comply with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and client requirements while supporting the engineering and project execution teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Design & Drafting
- Prepare detailed electrical shop drawings, installation drawings, as-built drawings, and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other approved drafting software.
- Develop lighting, power, small power, grounding, lightning protection, fire alarm, ELV, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
- Produce cable routing, containment layouts, panel schedules, load schedules, and equipment layout drawings.
- Review design drawings and identify discrepancies before project execution.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, electrical codes, and company standards.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.
- AutoCAD Professional Certification is preferred.
- Autodesk Revit MEP Certification or BIM certification is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM workflows.
- Familiarity with Navisworks for clash detection is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including:
- Power Distribution
- Lighting Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Emergency Lighting
- Earthing & Lightning Protection
- ELV Systems (CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, PA/BGM, etc.)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design calculations.
- Knowledge of IEC, NFPA, DEWA, ADDC, ADQCC, and other applicable UAE electrical standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
