Safety Officer
We are seeking a qualified Safety Officer on behalf of our client for a construction project based in Riyadh. The role involves promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting site inspections, and mitigating risks. Candidates must be Saudi nationals with construction experience and hold NEBOSH and IOSH certifications.
Health & Safety Management: Implement and monitor company safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments. Identify hazards and recommend corrective/preventive actions. Ensure compliance with local labor laws and safety regulations. Monitor proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend improvements. Maintain accident and safety records. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
Training & Awareness: Conduct safety inductions for new employees. Organize toolbox talks and safety training sessions. Promote safety awareness campaigns. Ensure emergency response procedures are understood.
Compliance & Documentation: Maintain safety documentation and reports. Coordinate safety audits and inspections. Ensure fire safety systems and emergency equipment are functional. Liaise with regulatory authorities when required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in a safety role (industry-specific experience preferred)
- Certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent preferred
- Strong knowledge of local safety laws and regulations
- Good observation, reporting, and communication skills
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits
