MEP Project Manager – Oil & Gas

We are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager – Oil & Gas to oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works within oil and gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, resources, subcontractors, and technical activities while ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, and applicable industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of MEP works across oil and gas projects, ensuring delivery within approved schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related building services works, as applicable to the project scope.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Review project drawings, technical specifications, method statements, material submittals, and construction plans.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential delays and technical challenges, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, site engineers, supervisors, and other project personnel.
  • Ensure all MEP activities comply with approved designs, applicable codes, client specifications, and oil and gas industry standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, EPC contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical and execution-related issues.
  • Oversee material planning, procurement coordination, manpower allocation, equipment utilization, and site logistics.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, variations, and resource requirements, supporting effective cost control and commercial performance.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, risk assessments, permit-to-work procedures, and site safety requirements.
  • Coordinate inspection and testing activities, pre-commissioning, commissioning, troubleshooting, and final project handover.
  • Prepare and review progress reports, project schedules, risk registers, technical documentation, and project closeout reports.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management and clients regarding progress, risks, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in MEP project execution and management, preferably within the oil and gas or EPC sector.
  • Proven experience managing MEP works on oil and gas facilities, industrial plants, process facilities, or related infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, and associated installation and commissioning activities.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Good understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, quality assurance, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with applicable international engineering standards, project specifications, HSE requirements, and quality procedures.
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans, and commissioning documentation.
  • Proficiency in project management and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and relevant engineering software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage site-based operations and meet demanding project deadlines.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with EPC contractors on oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, or industrial projects.
  • Exposure to brownfield and greenfield projects, shutdowns, plant upgrades, or facility expansion works.
  • Knowledge of relevant international standards, including applicable ASME, IEC, NFPA, API, and ISO requirements.
  • Experience with project handover documentation, system completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
  • Relevant project management certification, such as PMP, is an advantage.
