Draftsman – MEP

We are seeking a skilled MEP Draftsman to prepare and coordinate detailed AutoCAD drawings for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in construction projects. The role involves collaborating with engineers and site teams to ensure accurate and compliant designs, resolving clashes, and updating drawings based on project requirements. The ideal candidate will have 3–7 years of experience in MEP drafting, strong AutoCAD proficiency, and a solid understanding of construction and MEP.

MEP Drafting and Design

  • Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, layouts, sections, and schematics using AutoCAD.
  • Develop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and electrical systems.
  • Interpret engineering designs and technical specifications into accurate drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings meet project requirements and quality standards.

Coordination and Clash Resolution

  • Coordinate with MEP engineers, architects, and structural teams to ensure integrated designs.
  • Identify and resolve clashes between different building systems.
  • Participate in coordination meetings to address design issues and updates.
  • Ensure all drawings are aligned before site execution.

Compliance and Standards

  • Ensure drawings comply with Saudi codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
  • Maintain consistency in drawing formats and standards.

Drawing Updates and Documentation

  • Update drawings based on design revisions and site requirements.
  • Prepare as-built drawings reflecting actual site conditions.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and documentation.
  • Track and manage version control of all project drawings.

Project Support

  • Assist in quantity take-offs and material coordination when required.
  • Support site teams with technical drawing clarifications.
  • Coordinate with procurement and construction teams for drawing-related queries.
  • Ensure timely delivery of drawings to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in MEP drafting within construction projects.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
  • Experience in commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Saudi standards and regulations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Revit MEP or BIM tools is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and coordination practices.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
