Business Development / Sales – MICE Events
The Business Development Manager – MICE Events will drive revenue growth by securing conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, meetings and incentive business for the venue. The role is responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, managing the sales pipeline and converting enquiries into confirmed events while maximizing venue utilization and commercial returns.
Develop and execute sales strategies to grow MICE and corporate event revenue.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across meetings, conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, product launches, gala dinners and incentive events.
Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, government entities, event agencies, PCOs, DMCs, exhibition organizers and other key decision-makers.
Generate new leads through direct sales, networking, industry events, referrals and market research.
Manage incoming event enquiries and convert qualified opportunities into confirmed bookings.
Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, presentations and venue packages based on client requirements.
Conduct venue tours, client meetings and sales presentations.
Understand client event objectives and recommend suitable venue configurations, services and commercial solutions.
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and event packages within approved guidelines.
Manage the sales pipeline from initial enquiry through proposal, negotiation, contracting and handover.
Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, client activity and sales forecasts in the CRM.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of repeat and long-term corporate accounts.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling of venue spaces, event services and additional commercial offerings.
Work closely with Events, Production and Operations teams to ensure proposed solutions are commercially and operationally achievable.
Support preparation of annual sales plans, revenue targets and market development strategies.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, venue pricing and demand within the UAE MICE sector.
Represent the venue at trade shows, networking events, industry forums and client functions.
Develop partnerships with event agencies, conference organizers, destination management companies and corporate travel partners.
Track conversion rates, sales performance, revenue contribution and account activity.
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts and business development updates.
Support contract negotiations and ensure commercial agreements are completed accurately and on time.
Maintain strong client relationships before, during and after events to encourage repeat business.
Identify new market segments and commercial opportunities to improve venue occupancy and event calendar utilization.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Event Management or a related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in business development or sales within the MICE, events, hospitality or venue industry.
Proven track record of securing conferences, exhibitions, corporate events and other MICE business.
Strong existing network within the UAE corporate, government, event agency or MICE market is highly preferred.
Previous experience working with an event venue, convention centre, hotel, exhibition organizer, event agency or similar environment.
Strong understanding of the MICE sales cycle, event contracting and venue commercial models.
Demonstrated ability to generate leads and convert opportunities into revenue.
Strong negotiation, presentation and commercial skills.
Excellent relationship-building and account-management abilities.
Ability to prepare professional commercial proposals and presentations.
Strong understanding of pricing, margins, revenue targets and commercial negotiations.
Experience using CRM systems and managing structured sales pipelines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-driven, target-oriented and comfortable working against revenue KPIs.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and client accounts simultaneously.
Good understanding of the UAE events and hospitality market.
UAE or GCC MICE sales experience is highly preferred.
Existing relationships with corporate clients, government entities, PCOs, DMCs and event agencies would be a strong advantage.
Flexibility to attend client meetings, networking events and industry functions outside regular working hours when required.
