Site Mechanical & Static QC Inspector

We are seeking a Mechanical & Static QC Inspector who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality compliance of all static mechanical equipment. The role involves monitoring construction, installation, recommissioning, and commissioning activities to verify adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and contractual requirements.

  • Perform daily inspections of static equipment installation and construction activities.
  • Monitor work progress and identify nonconformities or quality deviations.
  • Prepare daily updates and weekly reports including findings, defects, corrective actions, and performance indicators.
  • Maintain accurate records including ITP follow-up, NCR/CAR tracking, and mechanical completion documentation.
  • Participate in QC and construction coordination meetings.
  • Inspect installation and compliance of:
  • Pressure vessels, columns, and towers
  • Heat exchangers and air coolers
  • Storage tanks, separators, filters, and reactors
  • Verify alignment, levelling, supports, anchor bolts, and grout works.
  • Check internal components (trays, packing, demisters, baffles) prior to equipment closure.
  • Ensure correct installation of flanges, gaskets, bolting, and nozzle orientation.
  • Witness and verify activities such as cleaning, drying, nitrogen purging, pressure and leak testing.
  • Validate readiness of static equipment for commissioning handover.
  • Review test reports and punch lists to ensure completion and compliance.
  • Review and approve contractor ITPs, method statements, and procedures.
  • Ensure implementation of approved drawings and QC plans.
  • Verify vendor documentation, certifications, and material traceability.
  • Issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and CARs (Corrective Action Requests) when required.
  • Coordinate with welding and NDT teams for inspections related to static equipment interfaces.
  • Verify NDT results and ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Check piping connections, flange alignment, and structural interfaces.
  • Identify, report, and track quality issues.
  • Ensure timely implementation and verification of corrective actions.
  • Escalate critical issues to the QC Superintendent.
  • Liaise with engineering, construction, commissioning teams, and vendors.
  • Support technical clarifications and resolve design issues.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and site visits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of project documentation. 

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Mechanical & Static QC within Oil & Gas EPC projects
  • Strong background in installation and inspection of static equipment (vessels, exchangers, tanks, columns)
  • Experience in CPF, refinery, or large industrial projects preferred
  • Good knowledge of mechanical installation (foundations, supports, bolting, internals)
  • Ability to read and interpret codes, standards, and technical drawings
  • Skilled in using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, torque tools)
  • Familiar with pressure/leak testing and mechanical completion processes
  • Understanding of NCR, deviation, and concession procedures
  • Experience with QC digital systems (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint) is a plus
  • Strong HSSE awareness and compliance
  • Detail-oriented with solid reporting skills
  • Able to work independently in remote site conditions
  • Good leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Fluent in English (mandatory)
