Risk Engineer

We are seeking a Risk Engineer / Contracts Administrator who will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical, contractual, commercial, and operational risks across EPC and construction projects. The role administers project contracts, ensures compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards, and supports project teams in minimizing risk, protecting commercial interests, and achieving successful project delivery.

  • Identify, assess, and monitor technical, contractual, commercial, and operational risks across EPC and construction projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments using methodologies such as HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA, Bow-Tie, and maintain project risk registers.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Review engineering designs, project plans, and contracts to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Administer EPC, construction, procurement, and subcontract agreements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage contract compliance, variations, change orders, claims, extensions of time (EOT), and contract documentation.
  • Support tender evaluations, contractual risk assessments, and dispute avoidance.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Commercial, Legal, and HSE teams to manage project risks and contractual matters.
  • Prepare risk and contract reports, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Promote risk management best practices through guidance and awareness initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as PMI-RMP, PMP, CCM, or RICS are an advantage.
  • 3–7 years of experience in EPC, construction, engineering, or contracting environments.
  • Experience in risk assessment, contract administration, project risk management, and claims management.
  • Familiarity with EPC contracts, procurement, subcontract administration, and change management.

Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of ISO 31000, FIDIC, HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA, Bow-Tie, and project risk management principles.
  • Understanding of EPC project delivery, contract administration, procurement, project controls, and HSE standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and risk/project management software.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
