Engineer Mechanical (Piping & Pipeline)
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Piping & Pipeline) who will be responsible for the design, analysis, installation, and maintenance of piping systems used to transport fluids such as oil, gas, water, and chemicals. The role ensures systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
Engineering & Design
- Perform detailed engineering for piping and pipeline systems including layouts, routing, and material selection.
- Develop and review piping design deliverables such as P&IDs, piping layouts, isometrics, stress analysis inputs, and material take-offs.
- Design onshore/offshore pipelines including wall thickness calculations, routing, crossings, and tie-ins.
- Conduct or review piping stress analysis using tools such as CAESAR II or equivalent.
- Ensure designs comply with ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and project-specific standards.
Project Execution Support
- Coordinate with process, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Support procurement by preparing technical requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Review contractor drawings, method statements, and inspection/test plans (ITPs).
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and constructability reviews.
- Resolve site technical queries (TQs) and manage design changes.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Maintain proper document control and revision management.
- Support as-built documentation and final project handover.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional certification or membership (preferred).
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5+ years experience in Oil & Gas piping and pipeline engineering.
- Strong knowledge of piping design, pipeline engineering, and materials.
- Hands-on experience with:
- P&IDs, piping layouts, and isometrics
- Pipeline design codes (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 5L, etc.)
- Stress analysis software (CAESAR II or equivalent)
- Familiarity with EPC project execution and site coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SmartPlant, PDMS, SP3D, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
