Draftsman - Static

We are seeking an experienced Static Designer (Draughtsman) who will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating detailed engineering drawings for static equipment including storage tanks and pressure vessels in FEED and detailed engineering projects. The role supports onshore and offshore projects in Dubai, ensuring compliance with international codes and client specifications, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate and high-quality design outputs.

Engineering Design and Drafting

  • Prepare and check General Arrangement (GA), detailed, and fabrication drawings for static equipment.
  • Develop construction drawings in accordance with project specifications and standards.
  • Interpret PFDs, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and client specifications into detailed drawings.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all design deliverables.

3D Modeling and Coordination

  • Prepare and develop 3D models for tank farm terminals and associated facilities.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure proper integration of models.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews with clients at 30%, 60%, and 90% stages.
  • Identify and resolve design clashes and discrepancies during model development.

Codes and Standards Compliance

  • Ensure all designs comply with international standards such as ASME, API, and ASTM.
  • Apply client-specific standards including Shell DEP, ARAMCO, and ADNOC requirements.
  • Review drawings to ensure adherence to project and regulatory requirements.

Material Take-Off and Documentation

  • Prepare Material Take-Off (MTO) for mechanical and structural components.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of drawings and revisions.
  • Ensure all deliverables are submitted within project timelines and quality standards.

Project Coordination and Support

  • Coordinate with engineering teams, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support during design development and execution phases.
  • Assist in resolving site-related design queries when required.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical
  • 10 to 12 years experience in FEED & Detail Engineering projects involving Onshore/Offshore storage tanks and pressure vessel
  • Well versed with codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, Shell DEP, ARAMOC, ADNOC)
  • Ability to read and interpret PFD, PID, equipment data sheets, and Client specifications
  • Experience in 3D model reviews with client at 30%, 60% and 90% stages
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficient in Revit
  • Proficient in Nesting software
