Site Surveyor ( Land Surveyor)
CountryUnited Arab Emirates
Job typePermanent
LocationDubai
SpecialismProject Management / Operations / Strategy
Performs accurate geospatial measurements to support the planning, construction, and maintenance of oil and gas facilities. Operates advanced surveying equipment—such as total stations, GNSS receivers, and LiDAR—to establish control points, verify as-built conditions, and monitor ground movement across pipeline routes, well pads, and processing facilities. Executes topographic surveys in line with API RP 80 standards, stakes pipeline centerlines with centimeter-level accuracy, and calculates earthwork volumes for construction activities.
Acts as the on-site authority for geospatial data quality, reconciling field measurements with CAD drawings and GIS systems. Maintains expertise in coordinate systems (NAD83, UTM), pipeline survey regulations (PHMSA), and deformation monitoring techniques. Oversees instrument calibration, processes UAV-collected point cloud data, and prepares ALTA/ACSM land title reports. Adapts surveying methods to industry-specific needs, including HDD pilot monitoring and flare stack verticality checks, ensuring engineering designs are implemented accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
Diploma or degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
1-3 years’ experience in surveying for oil & gas or industrial projects
Proficiency in total stations, GNSS receivers, LiDAR, and CAD/GIS software
Knowledge of API RP 80 standards, PHMSA regulations, and coordinate systems (NAD83, UTM)
Ability to conduct topographic, volumetric, and deformation surveys
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and safety awareness
Experience with UAV/drone-based surveying is an advantage
