Oversees the safe erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures in industrial environments such as refineries, offshore platforms, and petrochemical plants. Ensures all work follows international standards and UAE safety regulations, while providing safe access for construction and maintenance teams in challenging work areas.
Diploma or technical certification in scaffolding or construction.
1-3 years’ experience supervising scaffolding in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial environments, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
Strong knowledge of scaffold types, load calculations, and safety standards (OSHA, ANSI, ASTM).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Competent Person certification for scaffolding preferred.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Physically fit to work at heights and in outdoor conditions.
- Supervise scaffold erection, alteration, and dismantling according to project and safety requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings and determine scaffold load capacities.
- Inspect scaffolds, tie-in points, guardrails, and ladders for safety compliance.
- Ensure materials meet quality standards and are fit for use.
- Enforce safe work practices, including fall protection and exclusion zones.
- Maintain scaffold tagging systems to indicate inspection status.
- Plan scaffolding work around maintenance schedules and ongoing plant operations.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and safety officers to ensure work efficiency and compliance.
