The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction and engineering projects, ensuring that budgets are accurately planned, monitored, and controlled. This role involves preparing cost estimates, conducting quantity take-offs, managing procurement, and providing financial insight to optimize project expenditure. Working closely with project managers, contractors, and suppliers, the Quantity Surveyor plays a key role in tracking costs, forecasting risks, and ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost control, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., CostX, Candy) and MS Office applications.
Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, RERA guidelines, and market pricing trends.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
Valid UAE driving license preferred.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and measure materials, labor, and equipment needs.
- Manage procurement processes, including tender preparation and evaluation.
- Prepare progress payment certificates and verify contractor claims.
- Evaluate contract variations and negotiate cost impacts.
- Monitor project costs, identify variances, and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, local building codes, and UAE regulations.
- Provide cost reports and financial forecasts to support project decision-making.
