The QC Inspector – Welding is responsible for conducting inspections of welding processes and finished welds to ensure adherence to project specifications, welding codes, and quality standards. This role involves performing visual inspections, monitoring welding parameters, and coordinating non-destructive testing (NDT) to detect defects. The inspector works closely with welding teams to identify issues early and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Additionally, the QC Inspector maintains detailed inspection reports, verifies welding documentation, and supports quality audits. Strong technical knowledge of welding procedures, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are essential to uphold structural integrity and meet project quality requirements.
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or related field
3-5 years of welding inspection experience in industrial, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects
Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS CWI, or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API)
Experience with NDT coordination and interpretation of results
Proficiency in reviewing Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT)
Strong documentation and reporting skills
Commitment to quality, safety, and compliance in all welding activities
