The QC Engineer – Mechanical & Piping oversees the quality control processes related to mechanical equipment and piping systems, ensuring all installations meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards. This role involves conducting inspections, reviewing welding and fabrication procedures, and coordinating non-destructive testing to identify defects or deviations. The engineer collaborates closely with construction and engineering teams to resolve quality issues efficiently.
Beyond on-site activities, the QC Engineer maintains detailed quality documentation, supports audits, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and piping systems, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are critical to ensuring project quality and safety compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
3-5 years of experience in mechanical and piping quality control within industrial or oil & gas projects
Knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM)
Proficiency in reviewing WPS/PQR and material certificates
Familiarity with NDT methods and interpretation of results
Strong inspection and reporting skills
Experience in coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and contractors
