(HACCP, USDA), and yield optimization. The role involves monitoring
production line speeds, verifying temperature controls, and implementing
corrective actions for any deviations in product specifications. Whether
training temporary staff on deboning techniques or coordinating with quality
auditors, the supervisor’s vigilance ensures consistent output that meets
client and regulatory requirements.
The poultry supervisor serves as the liaison between the outsourcing company and poultry producers, translating operational KPIs into actionable workflows. The position requires expertise in avian pathology signs, equipment sanitation procedures, and lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste. The professional tracks labor productivity, troubleshoots processing bottlenecks, and enforces PPE compliance in high-noise, low-temperature environments. The supervisor’s ability to balance speed with precision directly impacts profitability for outsourcing partners in a margin-sensitive industry.
High school diploma or equivalent; degree or diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in poultry farming or poultry production supervision.
Knowledge of poultry health, nutrition, and farm management practices.
Leadership skills with experience supervising teams.
Understanding of biosecurity and food safety standards.
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
