Performing Authority

The Performing Authority is responsible for executing and controlling work activities under the Permit to Work (PTW) system, ensuring strict compliance with safety protocols and operational standards. This role oversees the safe implementation of maintenance, construction, or shutdown activities, acting as the key point of coordination between operations and the permit issuer. Daily tasks involve verifying job site conditions, ensuring risk mitigation measures are in place, and leading toolbox talks before work commences. This position requires a solid understanding of hazard identification, isolation procedures, confined space entry, hot work, and other safety-critical operations. The Performing Authority must be proactive in monitoring job progress, immediately halting work if unsafe conditions arise, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the job lifecycle. The role plays a crucial part in minimizing risk exposure and ensuring that frontline teams operate under approved and controlled environments.
