The Kitchen Sous Chef acts as the second-in-command in the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring food quality. The Sous Chef often takes charge in the absence of the Head Chef and plays a key role in menu development and training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Head Chef in daily kitchen management
  • Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate kitchen activities
  • Monitor food preparation and presentation
  • Ensure hygiene and safety compliance
  • Participate in menu planning and inventory control
  • Train and mentor junior chefs
  • Culinary diploma and significant kitchen experience
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and safety standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Good communication and organizational skills
