The Foreman – Rigging supervises rigging operations, ensuring the safe and efficient handling, lifting, and movement of heavy equipment and materials. They plan and coordinate daily rigging activities, assign tasks to the rigging crew, and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards. The foreman monitors the condition and proper use of rigging gear, such as slings, chains, and cranes, while maintaining productivity and quality throughout lifting operations.
In addition to managing onsite rigging tasks, the foreman acts as the main communication link between riggers, crane operators, engineers, and project managers. They review lift plans, conduct risk assessments, and oversee inspections to ensure all rigging work meets technical specifications and safety requirements. Effective leadership, problem-solving skills, and clear communication are crucial to minimizing risks and ensuring smooth, successful rigging operations.
Diploma or technical certification in Rigging, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent)
3-5 years of rigging experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of rigging equipment, lifting techniques, and safety regulations
Ability to read and interpret lift plans and technical drawings
Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills
Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining safety and quality standards
