Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for managing project costs from the early design stage through to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget, meet legal and quality standards, and provide value for money to clients. The role involves cost control, contract administration, and financial management of construction activities.

Cost Management & Project Control

  • Manage project costs from initial design through to final completion.
  • Ensure cost efficiency while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
  • Evaluate and monitor time and cost impacts of variations.

Contract Administration

  • Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in post-contract administration, including:
  • Preparation of official correspondence and letters
  • Claims and dispute documentation
  • Final accounts
  • Cash flow forecasts and charts

Payment & Financial Processes

  • Prepare and submit Interim Payment Applications (IPAs) to clients in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractor invoices and payment certificates.
  • Maintain accurate financial records related to project expenditures.

Variations & Claims Management

  • Prepare and compile variation orders, including time and cost implications.
  • Provide full supporting documentation for negotiation with clients and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and track variation orders and ensure proper documentation is maintained.

Quantity Take-Off & Documentation

  • Perform quantity take-offs (Civil & MEP) based on drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain and manage contractual documentation, including:
  • Variation Orders (VOs)
  • Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs)
  • Subcontractor Payment Certificates (PCs)
  • Notices and claims documentation

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure all project activities comply with contractual, legal, and quality standards.
  • Support company claims, counterclaims, and contractual defenses with proper documentation.

Environmental (EMS) Responsibilities

  • Minimize stationery waste.
  • Reduce water consumption.
  • Conserve electricity by switching off unused equipment and lighting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or cost management
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
